Moldova has great personal meaning to me as it is the place my Mother was born. This country was split off from Rumania and suffered for 70 years under the Soviet Union as did the rest of eastern Europe. The capital city of Kisiniev has approximately 15,000 Jewish people. The majority of these people live in abject poverty and have never heard the good news of Messiah.
We were able to help a number of Jewish people and speak to several groups. As I traveled round the country, I looked for my ancestral home. As in most of eastern Europe, Jewish cemeteries had been built over by the Soviets. In so many ways the world has tried to remove the Jewish people, but we are still here! Pray that this Jewish community receives the physical help they need and that there is a spiritual rebirth in Messiah.
